Education, Advice & Information –
Our Role as a State Association

The Baden-Württemberg State Canine Association (Landesverband Baden‑Württemberg für Hundewesen e.V.) considers education, advice, and information to be central to its work. Through our events – especially TIERisch gut – we create a platform where responsible dog ownership, controlled breeding, and respectful treatment of animals are paramount.
For the cat sector, our cooperation partner, the 1. DEKZV e.V., takes on this important task. As a traditional and expert association in feline affairs, the 1. DEKZV e.V. provides information on responsible cat ownership, breed-specific characteristics, health aspects, reputable breeding, and the importance of respectful and animal welfare-oriented interaction with cats.
With our Dog & Cat Information Forum and the numerous information booths of our member clubs, we offer visitors well-founded, first-hand knowledge. Experienced breeders, dog sports enthusiasts, trainers, and club representatives provide practical insights into the keeping, behavior, character, and special features of various breeds. At the same time, we inform about modern training methods, meaningful activities, health aspects, and the importance of a controlled, responsible breeding culture.

Take advantage of this offering at TIERisch gut: Visit one of the information booths or attend one of the expert lectures at the Dog & Cat Information Forum to get comprehensive information, gain valuable insights, and make direct contact with competent experts.

Support for Families –
From Idea to New Family Member

Many families face the question of which pet suits them and what responsibilities come with it. As a state association, we see it as our task to provide support exactly here:

  • in selecting a suitable dog or cat breed

  • in assessing character traits and needs

  • with questions about keeping, care, and daily life

  • in establishing contact with reputable breeders and clubs

  • and in connecting with reliable contacts

Our member clubs are available both during the event and afterward to provide families and animal enthusiasts with a reliable, competent basis for decision-making.
